About the Irish Working Horse Association

_
The Irish Working Horse Association was started in November 2010 to promote and support the use of working horses in Ireland and to encourage existing horse owners to use their horses for driving and draft work.

The association is managed by a committee of five people.

The constitution of the association can be found here.

This site is intended as a resource for anyone interested in working horses - in forestry (logging), as draft or pack animals on the farm, pulling ploughs and harrows, or simply to go for a drive in the trap with the family on Sundays.

If you are working with horses, or planning to, this website is for you, and we would like to hear from you. You can get in touch with us by going here, or perhaps you would like to visit our forum and introduce yourself?

To all members of the IWHA - if you have any photos or news about your recent working horse activities and would like to share them on the website, please contact us .
